As the nation comes to terms with the fatal mass shooting that took place inside an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater this month, WGN-TV and radio reporter and critic Dean Richards examined the relationship between viewing violent film, television and video games, and exhibiting violent and aggressive behavior.
To do so, Richards interviewed Dr. David Castro-Blanco, Ph.D., Adler School core faculty member and head of the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology Program, Child and Adolescent Psychology Track. During the half-hour live interview on the popular “Dean Richards’ Sunday Morning” program, Dr. Castro-Blanco also discussed how to speak with children about tragedy like the Colorado shootings that they may see or hear about through media.
