Robert Musikantow, Ph.D.
Core Faculty, Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology: Online/Hybrid Format

I specialize in developing innovative online learning experiences and facilitating engaged and meaningful online interactions. I have a deep interest in introducing students to the brief therapy tradition, which originated with Milton Erickson, M.D., the Bateson team, and the Mental Research Institute; and has been extended and enriched by therapists such as Bill O’Hanlon, Steve De Shazer, and Bradford Keeney. I also have a deep interest in hypnosis and other forms of creative transformative practice.

I teach by engaging students in creative dialog with the understanding that the learning experience is co-created. The emphasis is on a participatory, circular epistemology. I focus on creating experience, which leads to deeper understanding of the material. I aim to foster both rigorous thought and heartfelt passionate creative expression.

After years of working independently, I find that I now appreciate working inside the supportive community that is represented by the Adler School. I have a passion to share what I have learned from many years of engaging in the practice of psychotherapy.
