Travel
Our student body is diverse,
representing countries from
around the world.
Travel Considerations
International students traveling outside of the US will need the following documents for re-entry:
- Passport: must be valid at least six months into the future
- Valid visa
- Current Form I-20
- Any past Form I-20s or DS-2019s you have held
- Remember to submit your I-94 card as you leave the US and retain a new I-94 upon re-entry (request that the border official staple your new I-94 card into your passport)
- Proof of Financial Resources: carry a letter verifying your fellowship, assistantship, or private resources covering your expenses as a student
- Visa to Enter a Third Country: if you are visiting a country other than your own, you may need a visa from the third country for entry
Spouses or dependents joining the student in the United States should present the following to the U.S. Embassy:
- Dependent Form I-20 or DS-2019
- Evidence of financial support for the entire family
