The ASAA Board Meeting is open to all alumni. Are you thinking about joining an Alumni Committee? Attend the next Board meeting, on campus or via videoconference.

This event will bring together students, alumni, business leaders and other members the community.  The conference will offer three 50-minute panel sessions that feature experts in organizational psychology to discuss current business needs and workplace issues. Simultaneously, the career fair will allow job-seeking students and alumni to meet with community organizations who will share information and career opportunities.  A brief awards ceremony and networking reception will take place from 4:00-5:00pm.

This event is co-sponsored by the Society for Organizational Psychology (SOP) and the Adler School Alumni Association (ASAA).

The focus will be on the development of a Values Statement (otherwise known as an Elevator Pitch). This workshop will help you examine success, values and aspirations to develop your values statement, also known as your elevator pitch. It is critical during a job search that you can clearly and compellingly convey how you impact an organization or group of people through what you offer. It helps others help you. Getting the word out about who you are and how you contribute is at the heart of the job search process. The values statement helps you with branding and positioning on your resume and LinkedIn profiles. Refreshments and materials provided.

$20 for alumni; $10 for students

The Adler School hosted its first Golf Classic on September 12th at Harborside International Golf Center on Chicago’s south side. Adler School Trustees James Houlihan and Ralph DeWitt served as co-chairs of the event which welcomed ninety golfers and twenty-four corporate sponsors. Each had a chance to learn more about the Adler School’s mission and community-based programs. The outing included lunch, 18 holes of play, and concluded with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, complete with raffle prizes and awards for individuals and foursomes. Guests also had the opportunity to hear from representatives of the MAP program and IPSSJ, as well as Guest of Honor Senator John J. Millner, who was presented with a commemorative plaque.

The event raised over $12,000 to support scholarships in police education and public safety outreach. Due to the overwhelming success of the golf classic, it has been slated as an annual event for the Adler School. Next year’s date has been set for Thursday, September 12, 2013.

Twenty-two alumni and friends gathered at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park to see James Taylor in concert. The sold-out show and season highlight for Ravinia was a great time for everyone involved! The Adler School’s Alumni Association revisited this popular event from year’s past, and it’s sure to become an annual alumni event.
